The Lorry Park

The Lorry Park
operates six days out of seven near to the Old Market, by the main
roundabout. Here you may get cars to Badu, Nsawkaw,
Sampa, Sunyani, Wa, Techiman, and Kumasi. Once a week the lorry
park moves down the road a quarter mile to the New Market for Market Day.

In the lorry park
you will find not only transportation but traveling
entertainment, political campaigns, spontaneous disturbances... hawkers,
vendors, businessmen, children, tourists, beggars, the mentally ill, the
homeless, rich, poor, all rubbing shoulders. Activity begins early in the
morning and continues until about 8:30 at night.
