The Busia Compound

The compound consists of Busia's house, the house used by Busia's brother, and a separate garage house containing servants' quarters. The main house was until recently used as regional police headquarters. It has now been returned to the family.
Kofia Abrefa Busia served as prime minister from 31 August 1970 until 13 January 1972, when he was overthrown in a bloodless military coup while he was out of the country. He died in exile in 1978.
The person in the photos is a student of Wenchi Secondary School, Mr. Emmanuel Otchere, who lives with his family in a house adjacent to the Busia compound.
